The roast is vegan, as are all Frys products.

I wasn’t sure what to expect from this roast, but don’t think I’ve ever been disappointed with a Frys product so decided to give it a try.

It has 12% soya, 1.2% quinoa, and has wheat gluten which gives it the meaty texture and flavour: it tasted like a meat loaf. It is filling and would be perfect for a Sunday roast with gravy and trimmings.

Sometimes wheat gluten is a bit heavy and chewy but this wasn’t at all. It was firm enough to hold together well, but not too firm. It was moist and tasty and had just about the right amount of salt. There was a subtle taste of roast pepper which added a nice dimension.

It was also nice cold out of the fridge the next day.

Verdict – I would definitely buy it again.

    I also love Fry’s foods. Could you please tell me where you bought the Sunday Roast? I saw on Fry’s tweeter photos that it was available at Holland and Barretts. But I went to H&B website and couldn’t find it.
